We're amply kitted out with snug chairs by roaring log-fires, a relaxing alfresco terrace and an eclectically furnished restaurant, all perfect for luxuriating over a plate of fresh, seasonal food and quaffing one of our well-picked wines or cask ales.

Forging local links

As its name infers, the pub was originally a forge or 'smithy' and in the 18th century home to one of the country's few female blacksmiths. These days we focus more on forging links with the community rather than mess around with hot metal. And we're nothing if not keen, especially when it comes to donning dubious outfits in the name of charity.
